This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. The first story, Street Justice!, sets the stage for the mayhem to come and it only gets better from there. With the kick-off superhero tale, you get hilarious commentary via the stereotypical criminals and it is written like the pages of a comic, minus the pictures, which makes it especially fun to read.Barnacle Man is a comically violent follow-up - an outrageous horror story on the high seas that reads like Moby Dick, but with the most epic cockslap in history. A Romantic Hurdle was my favorite. It is a sexy and romantic diversion from the pulpier content and it seemed to have just a hint of the autobiographical. This was the most engaging and the most erotic of the stories with multiple bj scenes and a sweet ending.
In conclusion, Erotic Pulp Volume 1 is the ultimate escape. This book is hilarious, indulgent, and completely unpredictable. You will experience nostalgia, you will laugh out loud, you will pop a boner, and maybe, just maybe you will (gently) cockslap someone that you love after you are finished reading.

I have never heard of smutpunk and enjoy exploring other genres at times. Smutpunk? Had me curious. All I can say is it is an eclectic combination of writing glued together by an author. The key is by a talented author—which is Callie Press! She defines this new subgenre.
This book, my first read by author Callie Press, is unlike anything I've read before! It's a strange but entertaining collection of stories that also includes a cheeky poem. Some of the stories read like comic book scripts that leave the reader with to-be-continued "endings." There's also a short told in 2nd person that is a "choose your own adventure" type tale.
My favorite out of the bunch was one of the more traditionally written ones "Introduction to Intraworld - Last Day on Earth." It was sexy and dark. I recommend this book for daring readers who are tired of the same old prose format, who are looking for something more avant garde.
This book was interesting, funny, and very sexual; three of the things I like in a book. I did not think I would enjoy this genre, but surprisingly I do. You have to read this book to believe it. I liked the fact that It wasn't just one long story, but many short stories, so I will be able to get part 2 of the stories I am interested in. I will be exploring this genre and I am looking forward to part 2 of the superhero brother and sister and Abstinence girl and her crew.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened up this volume, which at first seemed so slim and yet managed to expand to astounding proportions, but what I found was a collection of tales that, yes, are full of smut, but are also full of whip-smart wit and crackerjack send-ups of the conventions of race, class, and writing. The sex is more funny than sexy, but it's the exuberant comic-style writing between the sex scenes that makes this collection stand out.
These stories share that Stan Lee quality of focusing on really wholesome ordinary characters who are then plagued, blessed, beaten by exceptional circumcisions, err, circumstances. I mean, you have Fit Man and Burpee Girl succumbing to Street Thug and you have Barnacle Man c@#ksplitting a captain. As "Sea Captain of Facebook Brazil" I really vibed off that one. I mean, peoples, when’s the last time you saw a "privates" slap lead to entrails all over sails? Am I right? Read that one outloud entrails all over sails. Oh yeah! Then you have the sweet, sumptuous Candy, and the running maniac Danny running, pounding, hurdling, bumping awkward teenager to cervix in a very Bizarre Olympic Tune-up. This is one of the best climactic scenes I’ve read.

Callie's work is brash and subtle at the same time. She has an outstanding gift for dialogue. Have you ever seen those small Chinese painted bottles? They are these tiny bottles that the artist delicately paints from the inside. They have highly acute detail. That’s Callie. From word choice to sentence structure to characterization to dialogue to plot arc you are ensconced in the soft velvet of Callie’s genius.
