After his boyfriend dumps him, Hayden is in need of a place to live. Thanks to his buddies, he has a great lead to room with a guy named Cody in Metropolis, the hottest condominium in town. But things get a little uncomfortable when Hayden shows up for the interview and discovers he and Cody share an awkward up close and personal experience from their past.
Cody doesn't have a problem living with Hayden. He's had his share of help when he was down and out, and he wants to do the same for this guy. It's not long until Cody realizes how great it is having someone around. Sometimes, they watch movies together...and other times, they help get each other off--one of the perks of living with a guy who's as laid back about sex as he is. They hit off so well Cody even decides to act as wingman for Hayden while he gets used to hitting the town again.
Before they know it, they're spending more time with each other than with anyone else. But Hayden just got out of a relationship and should be spending his nights having fun and working it around town, not jumping into something serious again. Cody's always just gone with the flow, believing if it's meant to happen, it will. But life doesn't always work that way, and if they don't fight for what's right in front of them, Hayden and Cody might be over before they have the chance to even get started.
Working It Devon McCormack Books
Working It was a wonderful follow up to the first book in this series, Faking It. The story continues with the coming together of Cody an Hayden. Two young men whose relationship began as roommates and turned into something so much more. Hayden coming out of a terrible long term relationship with LL (Loser Lance) and figuring out that it's OK to be yourself and not conforming to someone else's standard. Cody was the surprise for me. In Faking It, you don't see this side of him and it was a wonderful surprise to see such a well-rounded man considering his upbringing. These two men found each other and it was lovely. The same characters are in this book that were in Faking It as well as a couple new ones, which I hope we see more of (Doc and Sebastian for starters). Almost makes you want to live at Metropolis! And yes, we see Derek. My goodness I just love me some Derek - he is so snarky and delicious. I just hope he finds his Daddy because that boy needs some serious discipline and a firm hand - he's so naughty but I love it (I'll never look at Santa the same way again)! And we can't forget the Sailor.........just wow. I hope we see him again too! This was another fun ride from these two very talented authors. This collaboration between them is well written, super smoking hot and with a lot of humor and it hits at just the right time. It just doesn't get any better than that. You can read this as a stand alone but reading Faking It will make reading this book so much more fun!

Working It Devon McCormack Books Reviews
I love the writing partnership of Riley Hart and Devon McCormack. Their writing styles mesh perfectly, mixing humour, sexy times and sweet love stories.
This is the second book in the Metropolis series and even though it can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading them in order. Knowing all the characters back stories makes for a better read and a full understanding of the relationships and their history as friends.
Cody and Hayden's chemistry is off the charts and their journey to a HEA will keep you riveted until the final page.
Working It is a light, funny, sweet and sexy story. A fun read that will leave you highly satisfied and with a smile on your face.
WOW!! Metropolis #2 is HOT, HOT, HOT! Laid back Cody and unassuming, sexy Hayden tore it up in this intriguing story. With these men you never know what is going to impact their decisions in life. I loved the layout of this story and the depth of the characters. I thought the updates with Travis, Gary and Derek were fun. I also like the fact that these seem to be able to be read as stand alones if you so choose. I for one am a series junkie. Especially when it comes to these authors. Hart & McCormack are another creative, fantastic writing team. I highly recommend book #1 FAKING IT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!
Riley Hart and Devon McCormack can write one heck of a book together! This is the second book in the Metropolis series, but so far, easily my favorite. Lighter in tone than the first and far sweeter, I totally loved Cody and Hayden. Their chemistry together was incredible, but never devolves into anything other than absolute tenderness. Little touches throughout add to the chemistry, like home made cookies and visits to work. Even characters that would seem minor have the feel of having their own stories to tell. Completely recommended!!!!
I like this series a lot so far. I especially like that the way the books are worded reflects the characters in the book and not the author. When it's in Haydens perspective, she gives you him- how I imagine he would be writing it. And then when its Cody, it gets a little more sloppy. More relaxed and it's really perfect. I'm glad I found this series

3.5 Stars My least favorite of the series so far but it is still a good read and a must read if you are enjoying the series!
Hayden and Cody fall in deep like and then love. They both have interesting backstories which I don't want to spoil for you.
Cody is really well defined as person.
Hayden has a lot of traits like backing, loving math, and having a bad break up but a lot of this seems surface level and he never feels as developed as a character.
I wanted him to be way more nerdy than he is or at least that to come out more.
The circle of friends aspect remains great. There are some sexual escapades that might make you google to see that is possible but overall it is a sweet romance.
My Review
Overall 4.25
Performance 4.0
Story 4.25
I really enjoyed this story. Hayden is just out of a relationship that really did a number on him and he's moving in with Cody. Cody is absolutely the best person to take Hayden under his wing. Cody's one of those guys...he's sweet and protective and quickly sees that Hayden is messed up. Cody makes it his goal to pull Hayden out of his shell and out of his funk...and in the process gets so much more than he ever planned for.
Like I said, I really enjoyed this one. The main issue I had with the first book was the gay party atmosphere of the Metropolis. That seemed toned down in this book and I enjoyed it so much more as a result. This story instead focused on these two guys and how their relationship and friendship evolves. I enjoyed all of that.
Also, this is really a friends with benefits relationship, so it checked a lot of tropes for me that I loved. I love it when friends fall in love. I also love getting to see a character come into theirselves...that was Hayden to the core.
It was fun and entertaining and I definitely recommend it. I was waffling on book #3 because of the whole "daddy" trope which does NOT do it for me. But there's a glimpse of Jackson at the end of this book and I caved. On to book #3 in the series. I'm crossing my fingers.
Note I really do enjoy Michael Pauley's narration, too. He has great inflections and emotions. That being said, though, there were a couple of points in this story where the two main character voices seemed to get a little lost and I wasn't sure which one was speaking. It was a really minor thing, but something I noticed especially in the chapter transitions.
